Probably. As I said elsewhere many parents use their car on the school run for only a short distance. On many occasions I've asked them why they do it and always have the reply that the traffic is too bad to walk. Being a driver of a school bus I see the difference between school time and when schools are off, during school time the traffic load is easily triple due to the school runs so school-run-mum runs her kids to school due to the traffic being so bad due to school-run-mums running their kids to school...a never ending cycle which will only come to an end when school-run-mum cannot run her kids to school due to roads being totally snarled up. Things cannot go on like this forever. A modern high tech mass transit system is no longer a luxury for towns, it's becoming a necessity and will probably have to be centrally funded no matter what the cost to the tax payer. -- Rob http://www.flickr.com/photos/canopus_archives/
