Seizure? well 'm on my 10th little swiss army knife, and I've lost 3 beard
trimming scissors, and several nail clippers, although the last is a
complete mystery to me, I suppose I could threaten the pilot with; "If you
sit still, I'll clip a corner of your earlobe, unless you fly this plane
where I tell you".

Giving up the right not to be searched without probable cause is to some
extent voluntary, you can always walk, there is still some coercion, and
voluntary or not, you are giving up some rights, just as you do when you
accept the privilege of driving a car on a public  highway.
