| Vigilante groups were probably the reason why they stayed away in the
| first place. And that just sounds like society beginning to break down.

Who? Cops? Bad Boys? Neighbors?
Don't you watch the news? Think Katrina and New Orleans then reread the
post.

| Its like the old joke. If you want the police to come out and
| investigate some suspicious looking guys outside your house and they say
| "Sorry, too busy, won't be there for a few hours", just tell them its
| ok. Then phone them back 5mins later and tell them its ok, you just shot
| them both. You'll have more police in the neighborhood than you could
| shake a hairy stick at.
| (If they ask where the bodies are, just tell em you missed, you said you
| shot em, you didn't say you killed em).

As to calling the police. One fellow (DI from Parris Island SC) went home
to help his family evacuate. Left three on his front porch with a note in a
zip lock bag. FEMA and the NOPD cops did not find them for weeks and never
followed up on the note.
