So many people end up here claiming to have read the FAQ or this page or that page and are confused or clueless or both, and so many who come here are unabashed, absolute newbies who don't know a Received header from a Web beacon. Mike's answers are completely appropriate for those situations. Lord knows I've learned quite a bit by reading ME posts over the years - far more than I've ever learned from a FAQ. If it's something I understand, I'll just skip over it. You might be well-advised to do the same.
