But Tbird can access webmail accounts, including Yahoo, Hotmail, Lycos,
MailDotCom, Gmail, Libero,  & AOL using its plugin described at
http://webmail.mozdev.org/

That's a good description of the hotmail httpmail situation.

I didn't know about the Tbird webmail extension until I was reading
about hotmail httpmail in wikipedia just now.  That wiki is amazing.

email access, it is possible to check one's own e-mail using Microsoft
Outlook and Outlook Express on PC and Microsoft Entourage on Mac, using
the WebDAV protocol and an extention for Mozilla Thunderbird [5]
