Hi, Brian Burton, 03.01.06, 14:29h CET: > Sure. Something like --without-libungif? I'll roll that into the next > release. I plan to add support for jpg and png as well. Do you think Any idea when the next release will be, yet? (See below.) > I like having them enabled by default if the libraries are present but > can definitely understand that there are advantages to being able to > prevent them from being used. Just FYI: While playing around with PBL support via Zach's libpbl port on FreeBSD, I noticed that I cannot update the spamprobe port in an acceptable way to officially support PBL, yet: libpbl and libungif both install their header files to the same directory, which means that if I want PBL support, I have to add a directory to the include path that might also contain the libungif header file, and that means that GIF support would be compiled in even if the user explicitly told the port not to (via port/package options as described by Ossi for NetBSD). I don't like ports ignoring the user's choices myself, as it takes control away and leads to confusion, so I'm afraid this means that the FreeBSD people will have to live without PBL support until there's a switch to turn off GIF support explicitly. Regards, Stefan
