Unfortunately elitism isn't the appropriate solution to the spam 
problem.  It's also not really appropriate on this list.  "Holding 
someone in contempt" because of their choice of mail client reflects 
poorly on the holder IMHO.

I think it's safe to say (IMO) that this solution is appropriate on 
small servers with a limited user base who can live with the 
restriction.  It's definitely not appropriate for general purpose mail 
servers.  It falls into the class of filtering "solutions" that I 
personally do not like.  Essentially it's a black hole list for a 
particular form of valid email that the server admin doesn't like.  It's 
really not much better than a DNSBL except that it's limiting itself to 
email formatting rather than server IPs so the extent of damage it can 
cause is less.
