The key in all this is probably a part in my original mail that you missed:

"In the docs I see a thingy used called 'xfilter' but I can't locate that anywhere in my Mandriva 2006 software."

Where can I download "xfilter"? I can only locate a website with HP-UX stuff which does not compile on my machine.
