SP is catching PDF spams for me no problem.  Only took a couple days of 
training and it caught up.   That is for the SP which I do training. I have 
another user who doesnt train manually and it still only lets through about 
1:100 PDF spams, it must have learned some other way ... I dont know.  No 
complaints so I havent investigated :)

I'm also on the ASSP mailing list and it constantly amazes me how much 
effort those guys put into hacking solutions to individual spam types. 
There must be a dozen posts a day about some new Regex to use to catch this 
or that kind of spam ...  I just dont get it ... the baysean filters in both 
SP and ASSP learn to catch the spam after a little while, and in the longer 
run it changes anyway ... so why put all that effort into one variant ... 
they must just be doing it for fun ...

( fyi: I do use SP + ASSP and use them to cross train each other, but the 
same argument, IMHO, applies to either one in issolation)
