I concur with the last paragraph.
when I started with spamprobe I used BDB but would consistantly get
corrupted databases,
about once every few months. So did many people reporting on the list.
I then switched to PBL which worked flawlessly, except for the fact I had to
agressively clean the database,
or it would grow too big, which is OK once you setup the cron file ... then
3 years ago I switched Hash format and its worked flawlessly since then with
no problems at all, but I still do have to agressively clean the DB or it
gets to many of the buckets full ... but I havent touched my spamprobe
configuration in 2 years and its working perfectly hands-off. I would
suggest absolutely avoiding BDB and prefer Hash over PBL but there are
advantages to both.
