"we" have tried ... but noone has been able to reproduce the problem well 
enough to diagnose it.
It just happens ... for me about once every few months.

My 'gut feeling' is a bug in one of the BDB core libraries that may be 
compiler dependant ... like an uninitialized variable that could be why you 
dont see it on MacOS ... who knows.
