weird behaviors of cleanup and purge?

hi all, a recent posting by jem had me wondering about the terms in my database (using pbl) and i found it rather bizzare that neither cleanup nor purge was doing anything to the terms (import/export doesn't do anything to the count terms either) # wc -l dbword 290809 dbword # spamprobe.pbl -d . counts GOOD 9681 SPAM 27128 # spamprobe.pbl -d . purge 10000 # spamprobe.pbl -d . counts GOOD 9681 SPAM 27128 # spamprobe.pbl -d . purge 20000 # spamprobe.pbl -d . counts GOOD 9681 SPAM 27128 # spamprobe.pbl -d . cleanup 20000 20000 # spamprobe.pbl -d . counts GOOD 9681 SPAM 27128 # spamprobe.pbl -d . cleanup 20000 1 # spamprobe.pbl -d . counts GOOD 9681 SPAM 27128 and the odd one i just did while typing this: # spamprobe.pbl -d . export > dbword # wc -l dbword 35675 dbword # spamprobe.pbl -d . import < dbword # spamprobe.pbl -d . counts GOOD 19362 SPAM 54256 (i'm working on a copy of the database here :) before that i tried various cleanup options (2 7,2 14, 5 18) and smaller purges. the numbers never changed brian? any idea? -- Daniel Higgins Netcommunications Inc.
