On my win2000 box I can execute xcopy.exe in the system32 directory under cygwin so I'd say that you are correct about win32 command line tools running inside of cygwin. I can also pipe the output of xopy.exe into wc and get a character count so piping works between win32 command line programs and cygwin programs. Fact is that cygwin isn't on my supported OS list and isn't likely to be added anytime soon. I can't build and test on every platform so I focus on Linux and *BSD compatibility. I'm unhappy that there is a problem running under cygwin but I don't have the time to try and find a workaround. David, if you produce a windows exe maybe we could post it on sourceforge for others to download.
