-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 I've just released another experimental spamprobe snapshot. This one adds a feature suggested by Nico to help combat wordless spams. If configure finds a working libungif and gif_lib.h on your system then spamprobe will use that library to extract useful terms from gif attachments in emails. The goal is to add extra terms for use by the scoring algorithm in emails that don't have many other terms to work with. I've experimented with it here some and the gif related terms become pretty spammy but not completely damning. That's good since it means the terms will be useful when there isn't a lot of content but won't condemn otherwise innocent emails just because they have a gif attached. I didn't really want to add a dependency to other packages but in this case spamprobe should continue to work as it always have if you don't have libungif so it's not really a dependency. :-) If this gif analysis feature works out well I can add support for other image formats in the future. In my own experience all of the wordless image spams use gif so that seemed like the best place to start. I've also done some more reorganization of the source code and added a - -f command line option to let the user specify a particular config file to be used. If anyone has any problems compiling this version please let me know. I've tried it on three different linux systems and Mac OS X 10.4 but there could be problems with other OS's. All the best, ++Brian -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP Desktop 9.0.3 (Build 2932) iQEVAwUBQ5ET1zxRyEoJfXIFAQh8Kgf+JCaMGrNyieOtULNlsyr4pdjxh6DK2Pgy fbExj6sQWbKdWT+2axlAGVhbfdSGCD4sUKP0KXR2iQKhR+NUlqcZdVuhwoHnjqUY w6qV+EVjmDEcerRtnsuPHG0/RLNinT8CX0agL9dCGjP82xfM5PbZCcgIrWCwrwwa yYx7FFlAZVlvz001EYO+Ymey++j0P1viAGfmFmoxtEYcXp6oOTTfvoSvqxepCli5 XSKYygfs1UUbffbn6Xia7NnRz9+Fb/ITkSBZQ+B5O63iSYN5/khEyoxQ9TnpMH8t nvDgfGMguE1ACaseaDyyx8IrAC4ck+7Anakbwy/4K49LAk7lHBQZgQ== =j34p -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
