libspf2 and timeouts

Hi,

I've been trying to find a way to use configurable timeout behaviour in 
libspf2 (for the resolver at least). As far as I can see there doesn't 
seem to be a way this functionality can be used am I right? I'm asking 
because I'd like to use the library in my c program. libresolv supports 
this feature, should I use/call libresolve directly instead? Maybe 
another resolver entirely?
