I have not posted to this list in a very long time, but as an early 
adopter and implementer of v=spf1 (and hopefully somewhere along the 
line, a somewhat useful contributor), I must agree with you.

Is there any place to view an outline for the minimum set of changes to 
which you refer?  It would be nice to confirm that our own v=spf1 
records still conform to the draft as it stands today and that the 
records will continue to work with the changes to qualify v=spf1 for 
Standards Track.
