A tarball nitpick

There are a lot of files in the tarball with things like:
Copyright (C) 2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006 Jason R. Mastaler
<[email protected]>
in them. For readability and conformance, they really should read:
Copyright (C) 2001-2006 Jason R. Mastaler <[email protected]>
since the time periods are all consecutive. I realize it's a nitpick,
but a properly-formatted Debian control file is supposed to include all
the various copyrights (not just the package as a whole), and this makes
it really unwieldy.
Any objections to me changing this in the Debian control files, or in
submitting a patch to fix this in the source tarball?
