Is deliverquota exit code being ignored?

   Hi all!

   We are using TMDA with Postfix and configured deliverquota as the final
   delivery program:

      DELIVERY = "| /usr/local/bin/deliverquota -w 90 ~/Maildir"

   All is well, except when the maildir is full. In this case, it seems TMDA ends
   with an exception and the message goes back to the mail queue. The same
   happens if we use maildrop instead of deliverquota.

   Shouldn't TMDA send back to Postfix the exit status of deliverquota?
   Or are we doing something wrong?

I don't think that always works.  If a sender responded to a challenge,
then TMDA will use DELIVERY to deliver the original message; passing a
failure back to Postfix at this point will cause the challenge response
to bounce, which will be confusing at best.

   I think what you need to do here is write a wrapper script that
invokes deliverquota, generates its own bounce if deliverquota fails,
and always returns success to TMDA.  HTH,
