If your client is using TMDA-CGI to manage their lists, then they should
not run into any problems with having multiple lists. They will just
need to have corresponding rules in both their incoming and outgoing
filter files. I myself have several lists such as family, friends,
work, whitelist, greylist, blacklist, revoked (used for tagged addresses
that I've decided to revoke), etc. The first 4 are all considered
whitelists and could have separate outgoing rules regarding envelope
tagging.
