tofmipd auth issues

Hi

I have latest tmda and tofmipd .... when invoking the daemon as a 
non-root user
using a flat password file .... things work great.

When I invoke the daemon from an init script,
permissions go to default tofmipd user and it starts, but I can not connect.

Here's the relevant line from /etc/sysconfig file
OPTIONS="-p mail.personalcapital.com:8025 -R 
imaps://mail.personalcapital.com"

Here's the relevant line from /etc/tofmipd password file
jlin:xxx

is there something I'm missing?  I'd appreciate it greatly if someone 
could point me in the right direction.
