i think it's the "/usr/local/bin/listvdomain" bin from vmailmgr that the problem
on system a, if i su to the virtualdomainuser and
"/usr/local/bin/listvdomain" it correctly retuns a list of virutal
users and there virtual home dir's

User Mailbox Aliases
"j.smoth ./users/j.smoth"
"g.gates ./users/g.gates"

on system b, it retuns....

"g.gates Yes"
