Are you sure this is the only thing you changed?  That plugin has *NO*
code that touches user preferences.  None at all.  It is a vague
possibility that it or some other plugin it works with triggered some
kind of problem in preferences initialization/load order, but without
further details from you, no one can help you.

In general, unless you've made some other customizations to that
plugin or to SquirrelMail core or are using some other strange or
buggy plugin, I highly doubt that Squirrel Logger has anything to do
with your issue.
