Where do you store user preferences? Files or database? If data folder
permissions are 755, who owns that folder?

How complex your filtering rules are?

Could you make sure that your SquirrelMail configuration is not broken by
comments next to check_quota and calendar_sql_backend plugins. Please note
that config.php is parsed by conf.pl utility and your custom comments can
cause config file corruption. Utility is not resigned to handle all possible
PHP language structures in config.php.
