I'm not opposed against modifying the current implementation to be more 
flexible. Reverting it makes no sense to me though. We replaced pages and 
pages of code and removed 6 files, while introducing just a handfull of new 
code lines.

I propose we see which exact, real, technical need there is to modify output, 
then see for each of those items how we can implement them in the current 
structure. Maybe we indeed need an intermediary page. Maybe we need a way to 
also divert the javascript-users to a separate read_body invocation, but only 
when some plugin needs it. Just some ideas. But completely reverting to the 
old code is a step in the wrong direction.
