All right, I haven't noticed that changing the password isn't actually a function of SquirrelMail itself but that of a plugin. I select "Options" and then "Account Administration", which delivers a screen titled "VPOPMail - Account Administration (V 1.00)". I change the password at the "Password administration" section.
