Re: squirrelmail characters problems after upgrading ubuntu server from 12.04 to 12.10

Do you have the language package installed in the SquirrelMail server?
For example: language-pack-es-base

And the package php-gettext ?

In Ubuntu 10.10 I needed to add all the affected languages in this file:
/usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/i18n.php

For example: Catalan (ca_ES.UTF-8), Spanish (es_ES.UTF-8), English
(en_US.UTF-8), Basque (eu_ES.UTF-8), French (fr_FR.UTF-8), Italian
(it_IT.UTF-8), Arabic (ar_MA.UTF-8 ar_SA.UTF-8)

And made squirrelmail-configure (Languages -> Charset utf-8)
