html plugin not able to forward or reply to html

When forwarding or replying to an email in HTML, the text version is
shown in the compose window even though the HTML format options bar is
available (i.e. the HTML plugin is installed).

I see there is an html version attached as an untitled file, but most
people don't know what to do with it and it doesn't usually look exactly
like the original anyway.

Is there any way to have SquirrelMail forward and reply to the message
with the original HTML maintained?

I've tried to change the display settings, but have not been able to
make it work.
