3.6.2 install trouble

Sorry to ask on here, but I can't find a digest of this list anywhere. I have a fully working install of sqwebmail 3.5.3 running with qmail and vpopmail on OpenBSD 3.1, and I thought I'd give more recent versions a look. I downloaded the current 3.6.2 release, and also the dev snapshot that's on the site. Both configure (using same config as for 3.5.3), make and install without errors, but only 3.5.3 actually runs. 3.6.2 gives an error that says "The webmail system is temporarily unavailable. An error occured in function write: Socket is not connected". What's likely to be wrong? Is this a known bug?
