3.6.2 + vpopmail 5.4.0-rc2 password changing problem

I can't seem to get password changes to work with this setup.  I get the
standard "unable to change password, possible reasons why blah blah
blah" which of course isn't the case.

Running fedora core 1, and I do have expect installed.
