patches and new features

Are patches and updates actively being accepted for sqwebmail (assuming of course that the patch
is something that would be of interest to the majority of users)? Many times when I update
software I only get enough done to make it work for my need. If patches are being accepted and
rolled into the main distribution I will make sure to force myself to do a better job with the
patching and make sure it is much more inline with the style of the current code, etc. (currently
I've not yet looked at the code at all - just the html templates and css).

Here is what I would like to add:

I would like to add an option to sqwebmail so that the default from address when replying to a
message is the same as what the message was sent to. 

Example:

The user controls all mail at some_domain.com

The user has set up aliases for different purposes - for example, they have an alias :

help@some_domain.com

I would like to make it so that if mail arrives addressed to help@some_domain.com pressing the
reply button will use help@some_domain.com as the default from address. Currently you can edit the
from text box to achieve this however that new value is then used for all future messages.

(Even better would be a drop down that would allow the user to either use their usual from address
or use the help@some_domain.com address. However that would probably be a later enhancement as it
would require more modification)

Does this sound like something that would benefit most users and be accepted into the main
distribution? 

Can anyone see problems with this feature? The main problem I can think of is the need to filter
out any address that are not @some_domain.com for cases where mailing lists, etc. set the to:
header to be the list name and not the user. It will probably be best to use the delivered to:
header as the default from: header. You get the idea of what I'm after though.

I assume there is no way to do this currently in sqwebmail - I've not been able to find it.

I welcome feedback on this, esp. on:

* would this benefit all users
* would this be accepted into the main distribution?

I've learned my lesson on trying to keep my own patches to software. I want to make sure that
whatever I do is something that would be added to the main distribution. I have found that I only
cause problems for myself if I try to maintain patches that are not part of the main distro (ie.
always needing to check new versions against my patches, etc.)
