Even that wasn't needed, you can run different desktops for the same
user on the same machine, just at different times.

It's good to know you are still trying, but your frustration is
shutting down your thinking brain.
You are new to Linux, and some of us have been using it for many many
years and know that somewhere under all of this frustration is a silly
mistake.

I think you need someone to sit with you and help sort it out, or in
these pandemic times, perhaps someone to share your desktop and try to
talk you through how it gets sorted out.

Good programmers are not usually good communicators, so choose your
help carefully.
