https://www.claws-mail.org/news.php My Gmail account is not critical to me so I haven't been following this closely. But I thought this oauth2 addition was supposed to take care of the problem. Google is by default a standard, like it or not. You become Google compatible or you disappear. (Put me in the don't like it category.) After running my own email server I am never going back to using a service. This Google crap is a prime example. Original Message From: [email protected] Sent: March 9, 2022 5:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Users] Gmail 'less secure app access' I'm in the process of setting up POP3 access to my gmail account. Turns out that Google does not like the name/password authentication used by POP3, requiring the Gmail account to be configured to permit 'less secure app access'. Well and good, except that that feature goes away on May 30. Thereafter two-factor login will be required. Thoughts? _______________________________________________ Users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.claws-mail.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/users _______________________________________________ Users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.claws-mail.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/users
