Google thinks it can set new standards for email.
Gmail will not send to a mail server if it isn't secured in the way
they approve.
eg

** Delivery incomplete **

There was a temporary problem delivering your message to
*****@*****.***. Gmail will retry for 23 more hours. You'll be
notified if the delivery fails permanently.



The response from the remote server was:
454 TLS currently unavailable

and of course we all comply with the gmail standard
