I had a similar problem with the same version yesterday.
I can reproduce this:

- paste more lines of text into an empty email than would fit into the visible area
- now mark several lines in the middle area (by holding shift and cursor up/down) and hit "del" (you don't need to scroll, just mark some in the visible area)
- now the lines seem to be deleted but somehow the lines below them seem to be garbaged....try scrolling down with cursor keys or page down and you should see

Looks very much like a GTK problem.

Also like mentioned in the release notes the IMAP support seems to be quite broken...but even with SSL for me. At least when using against an UW imap2000 server. Its correctly set up and correctly displays the folders available and their mail counts but when I click a folder to view the content (not using SSL/STARTTLS for the account) the client seems to hang forever.
If I set it up to use SSL or STARTTLS (which the server also supports) Sylpheed crashes. Its running on XP Pro.
As soon as I have time I'll look into the IMAP probems, I have a little bit experience with the protocol.

It helps to change to another window and back, but shouldn't there be a fix? Maybe it's a GTK error?
