Problem accessing IMAP folders

I've just installed Sylpheed-Claws (tried 0.8.8claws, 0.8.9claws and
0.8.9claws33). I have my mail folders (IMAP) on a Linux server. I can
see the folder hierarchy, but when I click on any folder to view its
contents, Sylpheed-Claws just hangs. If I display the log window, all
looks fine until I click on the folder name, and then the log window is
unreadable (looks like lots of lines on top of each other).

Any ideas?
