newsgroup subscribe fetches wrong messages

Hi,

i am not at all sure that this problem is sylpheed related but during the rare occasions that i was using newsgroup this never happened before:
I tried to subscribe a newsgroup in sylpheed, "de.rec.film.misc". the messages were fetched from the server, subject lines look as if the people in the newsgroup are talking about films. when i open the message (does not matter if as previe or "really" open it), a different message shows up. The messages are neither from the requested newsgroup nor does the subject match what was shown in the overview.

Some example: "Subject: Filme über Hacker" changes to "Re: Hilfe ! Wer kennt sich mit XFORMS aus ?" from newsgroup "de.comp.lang.misc,de.comp.text.xml"

any clues ?
