Send/receive functions have been replaced by a multithreaded
(on unix: multiprocess) approach and can still have bugs.
Indeed I never really lost a mail, but some mails got stuck
e.g. in processing folder or sending had to be cancelled, so
the only way to tell if the message was sent was reading (and
understanding) the debug log. I didn't encounter those problems
anymore after some codechanges but it is not tested very much.

I cannot expect unexperienced users to be able to find such
"lost" mails or to give descriptive bugreports on what went
wrong, so it is better to scare them away for now ;)
