I didn't tried NOD32, but base on experience of college The Bat! friend it work for TB! and I believe it will work for sylpheed to ;-) AVG (this is also freeware) work OK with Sylpheed, most all of my friend in office run AVG with sylpheed w32 without problem. calamav as mentioned by Thorsthen is a glue program for any antivirus program (it work just like amavis for mailserver), you may run any DOS AV Engine which mostly free to use (such NAV for DOS, Fprot for DOS, McAfee for DOS).
