[sylpheed:36998] PGP: Issues with signing using a ed25519 key

Hallo, 
I just wanted to send a signed mail with an ed25519 based PGP key --
but got only got a message that the key is not valid for signing:

(sylpheed:143022): Sylpheed-WARNING **: 22:43:48.154: pgp_sign(): encryption and signing failed: Unusable secret key

Are there any issues known with ed25519-keys?
