Recently someone (who may or may not work at Google, it wasn't clear) pointed out to me that the use of Google's App passwords *SHOULD* be a work around to the upcomin OAuth2 mail-client requirement. Afterwards I did some digging around and found that a couple of years ago Gene Goldenfield here on the Sylpheed list enumerated the instructions for setting up App Passwords: https://www.sraoss.jp/pipermail/sylpheed/2022-March/007035.html After the September 30th cutoff date I plan on trying App Passwords first, and if they fail to work as described I'll make the jump to an alternate provider. Warm regards all... -Galf On Thu, Jul 25, 2024 at 3:08=E2=80=AFAM Anton Shepelev <[email protected]= > wrote: > Jos=C3=A9 Luis Gonz=C3=A1lez: > > > Now I can't even switch my IMAP gmail account to POP3? > > I does not matter much, as GMail will stop working with normal e-mail > client as of September the 30th.
