What do you have in Tools->Log window after a failure?  Does
this happen with IMAP (receiving) and/or SMTP (sending)?  Do
share your logs.

Let me send you a test e-mail from several of my mailbox.
If you would rather not share your Yahoo addresses in this
list feel free to mail them to me.  Again, check what the
Log window shows.

OK.  Does /Rebuild folder tree/ work with them, invokable
from the context menu on the account's root "folder".
