Thank you for your response and sorry for the late additional info.
I noticed only yesterday evening that there was a clue right away, the already known "wrong CEF version" alert, only it was hidden in the background, as it sometimes happens with other TheBat! messages too (some of them modal, which is unfortunate ;) ).
So it stays with the issue I have had a few times already - somehow I seem to have mixed those NAU and "Automatic updates" versions and since then, CEF sometimes gets installed at one location and expected at the other.
