Hello Jernej, Most of other viewers most probably use more relaxed approach to verifying signatures. I've also found that government issued certs may have (or miss) unexpected properties - like I have code signing possibilities in my civic cert :-) I think it's semantically correct to point to any discrepancies related to digital signatures. Maybe we need to introduce some extra options to ignore idiotic mistakes from govt CA, but I think it's right to pronounce them by default > I'm not sure when this was added, but I noticed that the internal PDF viewer now shows when a PDF is digitally signed, and offers to validate the signature – except when I click the banner, the dialog shows "The certificate cannot be used for this purpose", and the banner then changes to "Signature is valid but the certificate is not trusted.
