I may well be taking out my butt here as I haven't nearly fully
explored this suggestion, but isn't the editor used for SmartBat
MicroEd? You can fire that puppy up with a hotkey command without any
macros getting in the way.

Of course you do have to delete that confounded date/time stamp that
drives me insane.
