Jason,

I am using only the AntispamSniper plugin. I also use Thunderbird and Outlook for other mail accounts on the same computer and neither has a problem attaching a read-only file as an attachment. I cannot say this for certain, because it never occurred to me to check before, but this was the first time in almost 25 years of using TheBat! that I encountered this issue and I must have attached a read-only file at some time in the past without issue.

However, after seeing your reply I tested a few more times and it hasn't happened again ... yet. But I can assure you that all I did to get rid of the error TB was displaying when I tried to send the message (several times, even re-composing it from scratch once) was to clear the read-only flag using the Windows File Explorer's File Properties dialog. The attachment was just a .TXT file containing a snippet of my C source code, so even if an AV program was involved, it should have trivially dismissed the file as safe, but the issue lasted for several minutes ... until I cleared the read-only bit.

But, since I cannot reproduce it on demand, it doesn't exist, so I'm sorry for reporting it. I won't bring it up again unless I have a way to reproduce it on demand.
