If it doesn't I will have someone look into this. In the meantime please send a message to [email protected] if you want us to unsubcribe you. Here's why: The new list server runs mailman3 (MM3). MM3 distinguishes between mail addresses (simply) subscribed to a list and accounts, owning mail addresses, subscribed to mailing lists. At the moment all members subscribed to the amavis-users list are mail addresses only but no accounts. Theoretically one could sign up on MM3, create an account, claim ownership of a mail address and then do all the account magic, but… MM3 accounts actually are Django accounts and the way the MM3 developers implemented the signup procedure there's no effective account validation procedure. We don't know why, but about a year ago we noticed $someone creating accounts without ever subscribing to the lists using randomly created account names. When the number of these account had come to about 3.000 accounts we disabled the signup process, since we didn't want to risk any abuse. Conversations with the MM3 team didn't really take the issue towards a solution and so we decided to keep signup disabled until we find some approach that helps us to remove the "bad" accounts and let's the "good" ones remain enabled *and* a solution to tell if newly created accounts are potentially abusive or not. I wish we had a solution now but at the moment it is as it is. p@rick -- [*] sys4 AG https://sys4.de, +49 (89) 30 90 46 64 Schleißheimer Straße 26/MG,80333 München Sitz der Gesellschaft: München, Amtsgericht München: HRB 199263 Vorstand: Patrick Ben Koetter, Marc Schiffbauer Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender: Florian Kirstein
