I don't know any alternatives to ClamAV - but I do know that there are
3rd party signature files out there you might try.
For startes google for Sanesecurity. There are others out there, with
varying licenses and such. I use a script called 'scamp' to regulary
download them. The website seems unfortunately to be down right now, but
you can find the script at Sourceforge.
