There is no question that spammers are getting better at this. I've been watching one address that seems to be a spam magnet. I changed the score for RP_MATCHES_RCVD to -0.001. This vastly improved spam catching and so far no ham has been misclassified. Even with that, some spam squeaks by. In this domain, I set the spam threshold in maia at 1.85. This particular email scored 1.19. The only spamassassin rule that was activated was the RP_MATCHES_RCVD. It got a BAYES_50 of 1.2. That's it. This is typical of the spam I just can't kill. The message in question was plain text with the provocative subject of "Fulfill a Secret Fantasy. Proposal ends 07/16/15" Internal text referred to meeting married women who want to play around. I am amazed that Bayes was the only triggered spamassassin feature. I'm not complaining yet. The tiny number of spam messages is easy to handle. But I do want to point out that Bayes is becoming more and more important to me.
