Maia 1.0.4 web UI not showing any messages ham or spam

Hello. I have been using the 1.0.3 version for many years. In the last
couple days I've decided to do a brand new clean install of 1.0.4 using all
the files obtained from Github https://github.com/technion/maia_mailguard.
I also created a new mySQL db using the included SQL script. Everything
appears to be working in general and I'm not seeing any errors anywhere
however the maia web UI does not show any messages spam or ham for any user
or domain even though I have setup each user/domain to cache all messages
as I had with the older version of maia I had been using. When I look at
the maia log this is what I see, all messages in the log always show Passed
CLEAN but regardless none of these messages are being written to the
database and as a result they do not show in the web UI. I just can't
figure out why I've been digging for days and can't figure it out. I'm
running this on CentOS 6.10, Exim MTA and Maria mySQL. I would really
appreciate any assistance you can provide thank you all.
