Hi Jake thanks for the reply. I was able to fix that problem, it appears it was a permissions issue. I ran "maiad debug" and saw this error: Apr 8 19:52:59 mydomain.com ./maiad[18270]: TROUBLE in pre_loop_hook: TEMPBASE directory is not writable: /var/lib/maia/tmp at ./maiad line 8491. Suicide () TROUBLE in pre_loop_hook: TEMPBASE directory is not writable: /var/lib/maia/tmp at ./maiad line 8491. The daemon now starts and runs normally under CentOS 6 and PHP 7.2. I am having another issue however. My configtest.pl tests fine and so does the web configtest.php. I'm using your supplied Smarty version. I created a new maia DB using your manual steps below which produced one error however I don't believe this is significant or the root cause of my problem, [root@host # mysqladmin create maia [root@host # mysql maia < maia-mysql.sql ERROR 1366 (22007) at line 716: Incorrect string value: '\xC2\x9Atina' for column `maia`.`maia_languages`.`language_name` at row 1 I also ran the below afterwards since I use amavis as my maia user, [root]# mysql -u root -p password mysql> GRANT CREATE, DROP, ALTER, SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE ON maia.* TO amavis@localhost IDENTIFIED BY 'mypassword'; My problem now is I can't run internal-init.php or login.php?super=register as both produce the error: Error with themes: theme not found or permissions problem. The maia error log shows some generic errors which I don't believe are causing any issue. I’ve tried to use the installer for CentOS 7 which appears to work for the most part although my MTA is exim and I’m familiar with the exim config part from using the original maia version. Seems the issue that I’m seeing is the maia daemon won’t start or nothing happens when you try to run it manually. > > -Manny > > > On Apr 8, 2020, at 3:00 PM, [email protected] wrote: > > > > Send Maia-users mailing list submissions to > > [email protected] > > > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > > http://www.renaissoft.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/maia-users > > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > > [email protected] > > > > You can reach the person managing the list at > > [email protected] > > > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > > than "Re: Contents of Maia-users digest..." > > > > > > Today's Topics: > > > > 1. maia on suse leap 15.1 (jjs - mainphrame) > > > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > > > Message: 1 > > Date: Tue, 7 Apr 2020 21:35:12 -0700 > > From: jjs - mainphrame <[email protected]> > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: [Maia-users] maia on suse leap 15.1 > > Message-ID: > > <CABkzw7wTuPkJ77uanv69q9CZTEiiDffPv8zatfN=M_Wa0Mf0Ww@mail.gmail.com> > > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" > > > > Hi folks, > > > > My goal today was to achieve a working maia install on suse leap 15.1 > > > > It comes as no surprise that the perl parts all work perfectly and > > configtest.pl is fine. > > > > But I'm seeing weird errors with php and pear.
